sample configuration

Wipro PC
high end Intel Core 2 Duo, Intel board, 1 GB RAM, 17 Inch TFT,
Licensed Win XP,
3 yr onsite support for 42K.

Lower configs (P4 or Pentium D based systems) should be available at fairly lower prices (> 30K). Delivery is direct from Wipro Factory to home. My aim was that the PC will recieve a good support. Wipro has nationwide support and good processes. One one occasion, support call was answered well.
Hathway Broadband plan for 100 MB is for 300/- It is very stable and support is good.

Please note, generally Wipro handles bulk orders through dealers. Retail customers are yet to warm up to the idea that original components, support is worth paying for. Hence it took me quite a while to get that worked out. When you contact these people, you need to be specific for what you want, and ready to close the order in a few mail exchanges with very clear communication. This is cause for a single PC, they are a bit wary fo a long drawn sales cycle. Tell them that you got their contact details from me and they will know :)

As for download limits, 10 MB is indeed less, but it gets used more only when I am arround, so it works better to pay as you go than paying a flat higher charge. You can check at Hathway.com for current schemes. suppose Install charges will also be mentioned, probably be arround ~3000/-

It is possible to negociate, and confirm PC order from net, probably pay through e-transfer, get it shipped to home and get set up from vendor. Same probably applies for broadband. One just needs to set up the firewall in the strictect possible way. Hope you can get the setup done remotely. Hope this helps!

For wipro, one orders through dealers, but it's custom assembled and shipped directly from factory. So they are somewhere close to the Dell way of doing things. I negociated/finalised from email/phone, and paid by check in full before delivery. You can review the models on their site. If you buy OS license, they preinstall OS, Service packs, Office suite (open office) etc and also physically setup the machine. I would suggest go for Win XP instead of Vista. It's less resource hungry, and stable.
